Typesetting - in TeX, LaTeX, FrameMaker, QuarkXPress, InDesign

Copyediting - on paper and online (using our proprietary copyediting software)

Full Service Project Management - for all categories of books, journals, and encyclopedias in any discipline and of any complexity; single author and multiple author titles; fast track options from manuscript to printer PDFs.

Proofreading - internal proofreading for titles typeset at Laserwords; independent proofreading on request.

Indexing - updating indexes from old editions; receiving index lists from authors and tagging terms in the files to generate accurate indexes at any stage in the typesetting process; creating indexes from proofs.

Graphics - redrawing art from manuscript; scanning and re-labeling; scanning line art and halftones for placement in pages; receiving electronic files from authors and converting them for placement in pages; chemical structures, situational art, 3D modeling; supply of color-accurate digital proofs for color or black and white halftones.

XML - conversion of electronic manuscript files in any format to XML; conversion of files from SGML or XML to a new DTD; creation of DTDs and schemas; Quality Control of XML files converted elsewhere.

Keyboarding - three-tiered proprietary system of keyboarding to achieve 99.995% accuracy; manuscript analysis and markup; data digitization of manuscripts in any language that uses Roman script; data capture of any kind of publication including directories, databases, and catalogs
